Project Management Services

We have worked with various stakeholders including Government Institutions and Ministries, Civil Society actors and Private Sector players to improve the economic situation of many people through designing and implementing viable enterprise development projects and programs. We work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that our projects are fit for purpose and allow for efficient and effective achievement of project beneficiaries.

Project Design and Conceptualization

Many project management approaches overlook a critical phase that can impact project success. Project design is the missing link that sets the stage for other project phases. Without a well-defined project design, development partners often struggle with execution due to a lack of clarity. At BGCL, conceptualising projects gives our clients the opportunity to harmonize concepts, processes, and outcomes.

Some of the services we offer here include but are not limited to;

• Coordinating stakeholder workshops to define project objectives and scope.
• Developing tools and models for performing baseline surveys, feasibility studies, business diagnostics and market scans amongst others.
• Conducting needs assessments, studies, research assignments, gap analysis and more with potential project beneficiaries.
• Conducting stakeholder mapping
• Developing work plans ad impact-oriented activity plans. 
• Developing project resource allocation measures and budgets.
• Supporting with identifying and building capacities of the project implementation team
• Performing risk assessment and mitigation planning.

Project Management

BGCL works with various partners to implement and roll out projects or programs within Uganda and East Africa. We apply the 3C’s – communication, Coordination, and Collaboration in the way we deliver project assignments. Our focus lies on the successful development, execution, monitoring and control, and closure as well as the guidance of the project team’s operations towards achieving all the agreed upon goals within the set scope, time, quality and budget standards. BGCL delivers through applying the five phases of project management which include conception and initiation, project planning, project execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.

At Benth Global Consults, Project Management services are designed to support the strategic development and operational excellence of MSMEs. We provide comprehensive management solutions that cover the entire project lifecycle, from initial needs assessments and feasibility studies to project planning, execution, and evaluation. Our goal is to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, ultimately driving sustainable growth and positive socio-economic impact.

Our major objective in supporting Enterprise Development Projects is to ensure that they can grow, become sustainable, create new jobs, and most of all can stay in the market. To date, our team has executed various projects targeting entrepreneurs and businesses from different sectors of the economy. We similarly possess unique expertise and experience in implementing projects that focus on vulnerable sections of the society; 70% of our projects have for example targeted supporting women-led enterprises and over 40% were targeting bringing the youth into decent jobs

Training and Capacity Building

BGCL has developed both standard training packages to support both business and enterprise growth and also offers customized training services to suit the needs and objectives of our clients. The trainings are done through virtual and face-to-face seminars/workshops where seasoned experts, and role model entrepreneurs share success stories for impactful and lasting change.

BGCL seeks to achieve mind-set shift among entrepreneurs, tap into their creative potential through personal development training for mindset change and approach life as an entrepreneur. This is followed by trainings in different start-up and MSME faculties from ideation to scale and commercialization. This transformative journey is a tool that facilitates the beneficiaries to contribute to the socio-economic goals of Uganda as enshrined in National Development Plan and ultimately contribute to the SDGs at the global stage. Our trainings include but are not limited to.

1. Personal Development and Mind-set Change: Our training programs are designed to unlock the creative potential of our target beneficiaries. We focus on personal development and mindset change, helping participants cultivate the confidence and resilience needed to overcome challenges and seize opportunities.
2. Entrepreneurship and Business Management: We provide in-depth training on all facets of entrepreneurship and business management. This includes ideation, business planning, financial management, marketing, and operations, among others.
3. Coaching: Most entrepreneurs tend to be under-educated and/or ill-prepared to manage commercial enterprises beyond the one-person start-up phase which leaves gaps in the enterprise ecosystem. BGCL’s work plugs these gaps by providing technical and capacity building for existing MSMEs and start-ups. We work with established business owners and coaches to support youths and women to be able to start and run commercially viable businesses in a sustainable way.  We work with an experienced pool of over 50 coaches to support MSMEs by instilling practical knowledge of the entrepreneurship journey which enables them to gain access to the market, as well as access to finance.
4. Technical Support and Capacity Building: Our hand-on coaching services bridge the knowledge gap for entrepreneurs, providing them with the technical support and capacity building they need to run sustainable and profitable businesses.
5. Customized Coaching Programs: We design customized coaching programs that address the specific needs and challenges of each entrepreneur. Whether it’s refining a business model, improving operational efficiency, or scaling up operations, our coaches with industry knowledge provide actionable insights and strategies to drive business success.
6. Mentoring: The BGCL team leverages professional and business skills enhancement through international and experiential idea exchange and retooling in the entrepreneurship and MSME space to remain relevant contributors to socio-economic transformation and the SDGs. Our network of over 50 world class business mentors offer both group and 1-2-1 mentorship sessions. Our mentoring program includes but is not limited to;

• Peer to Peer Learning/Attachments – We employ a robust Peer to Peer Learning and Attachment strategy, designed to enhance the capabilities of MSMEs by facilitating knowledge transfer from established large companies. This program aims to bridge the knowledge and skills gap faced by small and medium enterprises through practical exposure and mentorship. By attaching MSMEs to bigger companies, participants gain firsthand experience and insights into advanced business operations, strategic management, and industry best practices.  
• Professional and Business Skills Enhancement: Through our mentoring programs, we offer professional and business skills enhancement that is critical for the growth and development of entrepreneurs.
• Long-Term Mentorship Relationships: We believe in building long-term mentorship relationships that foster continuous learning and growth. Our mentors guide entrepreneurs through various stages of their business journey, offering support and advice that is grounded in real-world experience.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Our Monitoring and Evaluation support services involve tracking a project’s metrics, progress, and associated tasks to ensure everything is completed on time, on budget, and according to project requirements and standards. We have a fully-fledged monitoring and evaluation Unit that supports activities such as developing tools, conducting surveys/ studies, data analysis, validation and reporting. Through this aspect, we are able to assess the performance and effectiveness of programs, projects, and policies to determine whether the desired results have been achieved.

Within this component, we also collaborate with other research entities to harness synergies and potentials for joint achievement to objectives.

Our principles of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) include stakeholder participation, relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, ethical considerations, and continuous improvement.
