Jimmy Byaruhanga is a distinguished Leadership and MSME Business Development expert with a vision of empowering micro small and medium enterprises. With over 20 years of experience in the sector, Jimmy has dedicated his career to enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of MSMEs in Uganda and across East and Central Africa. His expertise spans governance, human resources, leadership development, and strategic capacity building, making him a sought-after consultant and trainer.
Jimmy holds multiple certifications as a Trainer of Trainers from prestigious institutions including the International Labour Organization (ILO), Bank of Uganda, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Academy of German Cooperatives (ADG). His qualifications are further enriched by specialized training in project management, procurement, financial literacy, and climate change from globally recognized organizations such as the World Bank Institute and the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). One of his notable achievements include leading the GIZ-funded national ECOS project aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of 1,000 MSMEs in Uganda, showcasing his ability to lead large-scale projects with significant impact. He has successfully led and managed numerous donor-funded projects such as the EIB, EU, GIZ, and the World Bank.
He has successfully conducted over 205 MMSME events, reaching more than 10,130 MSMEs and refugees, offering training in business development, financial management, and entrepreneurship. His role as a strategic connector and his positive mental attitude have been instrumental in fostering sustainable growth and resilience among MMSMEs, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate and thrive in competitive markets.
His exposure spans across countries like Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Mozambique.
